  • There are risks, whenever you venture outdoors. Proper trip planning can significantly mitigate these risks. When planning your trip you need to take into several things into account such as, the terrain you will encounter, your group’s physical condition, the type of weather you can expect. Perhaps the best thing you can do to minimize your risk is to study a trail map, before you leave. Tell people of your plans, and mention any potential "bail out" trails you might take, this way if you get lost or injured, people know where to find you. This page is here to help guide you with some of your trip planning, with information such as packing checklists, and food and clothing information, but there is much more to planning than what you can find here.
