Oswego names award-winning 'The Round House' summer read

The Oswego Reading Initiative at SUNY Oswego has chosen 2012 National Book Award-winning “The Round House”—Louise Erdrich’s “haunting, powerful” novel about a Native American boy’s search for justice for his mother—as this year’s summer read for the incoming class and the rest of campus and community members who wish to participate.

'Worst Hard Time' author to appear Sept. 25

Award-winning author Timothy Egan, whose book “The Worst Hard Time” follows heartland families and communities as they struggle to survive the 1930s Dust Bowl, will make a free public presentation at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, in SUNY Oswego’s Hewitt Union ballroom.

Art exhibitions to explore Dust Bowl, water

SUNY Oswego will open two exhibitions, one focused on rural hardships during the Dust Bowl and Depression, the other on sculpture inspired by water, on Friday, Sept. 6, in Tyler Art Gallery.
