Oswego professor to build partnership with University of Delhi

SUNY Oswego physics professor Shashi Kanbur plans to travel to India this spring to open a new collaboration in Delhi for course development in astrophysics and research in realms including the evolution of stars.

Faculty concert: "Prelude, Cadence et Finale"

SUNY Oswego faculty saxophonist Trevor Jorgensen, trumpeter Terry Caviness and pianist Robert Auler explore such influential instrumental composers as Debussy, Desenclos, Fasch and Hummel. The performance culminates with the Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Trumpet by Jean Rivier. $8, including parking ($6 for seniors, staff and faculty; $5 for SUNY Oswego students) at tickets.oswego.edu or 315-312-2141. Part of SUNY Oswego's Focus on Faculty series.

Concert: Ariel Quartet

Characterized by its youth, brilliant playing and soulful interpretations, the Ariel Quartet has earned a glowing international reputation. The program includes Beethoven's Quartet in F Major, Op. 18, No. 1; Britten's Quartet No. 2; and Schumann's Piano Quintet in E-flat Major, Op. 44. SUNY Oswego music faculty member Rob Auler, pianist, will join them in the Schumann piece. $15, including parking ($12 for seniors, faculty, staff; $6 for SUNY Oswego students). tickets.oswego.edu, any SUNY Oswego box office, or 315-312-2141.
