Reunion 2008 was the one of largest events of the summer season and the Oswego Alumni Association’s most successful gathering to date.
Reunion 2009 is slated for June 5 to 7 and the Association is looking for the help of class volunteers to gather another record-breaking crowd.
“Support as an organizer for the biggest annual Oswego State alumni event is a crucial part of keeping our campus community vibrant and our graduates engaged,” Associate Vice President for Alumni Relations and Stewardship Betsy Oberst said.
Reunion Class Volunteers help plan activities for the weekend, including special events for their graduation year or group. Volunteers networking with their classmates and friends helps the guest list and anticipation for Reunion 2009 grow.
There are plenty of opportunities to get involved regardless of where volunteers live or how much time they have to give. Through e-mail, fax and phone, volunteers can contribute ideas even if they live too far away to make it to the planning meetings.
This year’s reunion classes include 1934, 1939, 1944, 1949, 1954, 1959, 1964, 1969, 1984, 1988, 1989, 1990 and 1999. In addition, the Newman Center will celebrate its 75th anniversary and Alpha Sigma Chi, Beta Tau Epsilon, Delta Kappa Kappa, Delta Chi Omega/TKE, Phi Lambda Phi, Theta Chi Rho and Zeta Chi Zeta have special events planned as well.
