Entergy contributes $5,000 to support Leadership Oswego County
The Entergy donation is part of the corporation’s commitment to the Leadership Oswego County program. Entergy gives generously to the Oswego community and, specifically, each year to the leadership program by sending at least two of their employees to participate in the class, said Nancy Bellow, director of the Center for Business and Community Development and the founder of Leadership Oswego County.
“Entergy’s support of Leadership Oswego County is an important contribution to the program. Entergy continues to demonstrate its position as a strong, community-oriented corporate citizen focused on developing the community trusteeship skills among its own employees. For this, the leadership program is truly grateful,” Bellow said.
“We were pleased to make this contribution from the foundation in 2004 and we are more pleased to make it again in 2005,” said Bonnie Bostian of Entergy. “The leadership program has made a difference in the lives of our employees who have participated.”
Leadership Oswego County has graduated around 250 leaders since its inception 14 years ago. The program prepares a select group of county residents to become future community leaders. Graduates of the program are prepared to serve the community by becoming board members or volunteers for agencies and organizations throughout the county.
Entergy’s charitable contributions to the program will be officially recognized during graduation ceremonies on June 10.
