Notary Workshops
Notary training workshops offered
SUNY Oswego’s Division of Extended Learning will offer two three-hour workshops for people interested in preparing for New York state’s notary public test, July 16 and 17 in Syracuse and Phoenix.
SUNY Oswego also offers the only refresher workshop in New York state. The refresher workshop is scheduled for July 16 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the SUNY Oswego Metro Center at Syracuse’s Clinton Square.
Training workshops
The training workshops will be held July 16 from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at the Metro Center in Syracuse and again July 17 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the SUNY Oswego Phoenix Center in the Oswego County Industrial Park in Phoenix.
The three and a half-hour workshops prepare individuals for the New York state test and provide a comprehensive view of the notary public office. Alfred Piombino teaches the workshops.
“The workshops offer an interactive learning experience,” Metro Center Director Jim Jerose said. “Al Piombino is a gifted instructor who shares his expertise while using a wonderful sense of humor and a dynamic speaking style to help students prepare for the notary exam.”
Piombino clarifies concepts and procedures in plain English, not in confusing legal terminology, and provides examples to illustrate situations that the notary is likely to encounter.
Notary public training workshops are recommended for individual employees working in all businesses and industries. Employers benefit by having fully-trained notaries who can notarize documents in-house, keeping company and trade secrets safe.
The text “How to Take and Pass the NYS Notary Examination,” a reference guide/textbook by Piombino, is included in the $99 tuition fee.
