The SUNY Oswego Jazz Ensemble and Latin Jazz Ensemble will host SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music Latin Ensemble in a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 1, in the Marano Campus Center auditorium.

All three ensembles will perform. Eric Schmitz of the music faculty leads the SUNY Oswego ensembles, while SUNY Potsdam’s Marsha Baxter and Peter McCoy lead the 26 players of the Crane School.

The Crane ensemble has shared the stage with the Mambo Legends Orchestra, a collaboration documented in the film “For the Love of Mambo.” Last May, the Crane Latin Ensemble performed in New York City’s historic Nuyorican Poets Cafe, home to the Latin American Arts Movement. The ensemble was selected to perform as featured young artists at the International SAT Festival in Monterrey, Mexico.
