SUNY Oswego summer program enhances language skills
This summer, 85 students from eight countries enrolled in the Division of Extended Learning’s Summer Intensive English Program, which aims to advance their listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, grammar and writing.
SUNY Oswego’s Dr. Tracy Lewis (center), a distinguished teaching professor in the department of modern languages and literatures, listens in July 29 as international students in the program brainstorm a story to tell in English for the 14 other students in their class. From left are Kseniia Starova of Russia and Luma Oliveira, Pedro Barreto and Jose Almeida, all of Brazil. The summer program also included visits to New York City, Niagara Falls and the Thousand Islands to further sharpen their skills. For more information, visit www.oswego.edu/esl.
