SUNY Oswego will present the 49th annual Juried Student Art Exhibition, opening 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, in Tyler Art Gallery with a public reception and awards ceremony.
The Juried Student Art Exhibition, running concurrently with an exhibition of Brooklyn artist Stewart Nachmias’ cast-paper woodcuts and prints, annually invites submissions from students across campus in a wide variety of media.
Michael Flanagan, assistant director of Tyler Art Gallery, said this year’s jurors are Paul Bartow, a SUNY Oswego alumnus who has partnered with former Oswego art faculty member Richard Metzgar since 1999 in a collaborative art practice, and Christine Walker, creative director for AmeriCU Credit Union.
The exhibitions, free and open to the public, run through March 3, with the students’ work in the north gallery and Nachmias’ exhibition in the south.
Tyler Art Gallery is open 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays during the academic year. For more information or for visitors needing assistance, call 312-2213.
