Green and Gold Day spreads colors worldwide

Oswego students showing school spirit.Oswego’s college colors have started painting the world through today’s Green and Gold Day.

As part of College Colors Day, students, faculty, staff, family and alumni were asked to wear green and gold, as well as post pictures of their school spirit at the event’s Facebook page. In the first entry, alumnus Darrick Fuller announced “SUNY Oswego Takes Over Albany, NY!” as he posted a picture with fellow graduates Annie Rose and Sheriffa Bailey.

Other events for the day include a free Green and Gold Ice Cream Social in the SUNY Oswego Academic Quad (Rain location: Campus Center Activity Court) from 12:40 to 1:35 p.m. today, with a Green and Gold campus photo at 1:30 p.m. in the same location.

But one need not be in Oswego to participated, as the nearly 700 people who had committed to the event via Facebook came from all over the world. All anyone, anywhere needs to do is wear green and/or gold and show Oswego spirit.

The events are made possible by the cooperation of the college’s Oswego Alumni Association, Future Alumni Network, Office of Business and Community Relations, Orientation Program, Student Association and Auxiliary Services as well as the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce, City of Oswego and Campus-City Relations Committee.
