SUNY Oswego to host open house for Fulton e-commerce center
SUNY Oswego’s Small Business Development Center will hold an open house Thursday, Dec. 15, at a new e-commerce incubator and temporary outreach office to assist displaced workers in Fulton.
The open house, free and open to the public, will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Lower Falls Building, 34 S. First St.
At 4:30 p.m. Dec. 15, the small business outreach center has scheduled a new workshop based on the Rhonda Abrams bestseller, “What Business Should I Start? Seven Steps to Discovering the Ideal Business for You.”
Space is limited for the free workshop. To register, contact SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations at 312-3492. For more information, email email@example.com.
The SBDC and its Watertown Regional Center won a $100,000 portable assistance grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration to establish the outreach office and e-commerce center.
The goal is to create a “portable” model of small-business assistance that can be implemented in other hard-hit communities around the region.
Chena Tucker will lead the outreach office for the SBDC, offering one-on-one business advisement. The e-commerce center will host space and computers available for those interested in starting online businesses.
Others partnering to support the new efforts are Operation Oswego County, Fulton’s Community Development Agency and Lower Falls Development Corp.
