BFA exhibition slated for Tyler Art Gallery
Tyler Art Gallery will wrap its season with a variety of media in the spring Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition, opening at 6 p.m. April 15 and continuing to May 13. The public is invited to a reception for the artists from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 15, in Tyler Hall.
At 7 p.m., a number of students will receive department awards. Awards include the Aulus Saunders Service Award, which honors a student who has demonstrated exceptional service to the art department; the Grant Arnold Award, for an outstanding junior or senior who has exhibited exceptional commitment to the field of art and has demonstrated significant growth as an artist or scholar; the Hermann Krusi Award, recognizing a senior art student who has the highest overall cumulative grade point average; the Robert Sullins Award, honoring a student who has demonstrated exceptional growth and ability in the studio area; the Jesse E. and Jay D. Rudolph Scholarship, for a student in the graphic design area; and the new Marc Barr Award, recognizing a non-art major with exceptional performance in studio art or graphic design.
Participation in the exhibition fulfills graduation requirements for the bachelor of fine arts degree offered through the SUNY Oswego art department. Students have the option of programs in either studio art or graphic design.
Graphic design majors slated to participate in the exhibition include Gabriel Almanzar, Melissa Bearup, Kimberly Bolen, Katie Cerretani, William Deerfield, Kris Fisher, Deanna Ford, Jen Gallagher, Mike Garner Jr., Jeremy Hammond, Stephen Hansen, Michael Harrigan, Mark Mazzye, Jen McDonald, Andrea Parisi, Sam Querbes, Nicole Scanlon, Chris Spadafora, Christine Stenglein and Azrel Tanner.
Studio art majors with work in the exhibition will include Marvin Arevalo, Katie Atkinson, Brad Cole, Heather Connors, Erika Eggleston, Brooke Johnson, Mike Lupa, Michael Moncibaiz, Mario Romano, Michele Scoville and Jessica Williams.
Exhibitions and programs presented by Tyler Art Gallery are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. weekends.
