Leadership program seeks county residents for class of 2017

Leadership Oswego County, a program of SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations, is recruiting through June and July for the class of 2017.

The program, founded in 1992, prepares a select group of county residents to become the community leaders of the future.

A Sept. 15 and 16 retreat will start the class on a nine-month course of intensive study of leadership skills, Oswego County and its resources, vital issues of today and visioning for tomorrow. Members then will meet the first Friday of each month through the following May for a day of community exploration and personal development.

This year, the program was supported through sponsorship of the Richard S. Shineman Foundation, Gifford Foundation, Entergy Nuclear Northeast, Cornell Cooperative Extension and SUNY Oswego. The support makes scholarships available to provide access to participants from all parts of the community.
