Turco to read from most recent works Nov. 2

Lewis Putnam Turco, the founding director of SUNY Oswego’s writing program, will give a talk and reading from his most recent books at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, in the Campus Center auditorium.

His appearance, part of the college’s Living Writers Series, will be free and open to the public.

Turco will read from such recent work as “The Museum of Ordinary People and Other Stories” (Star Cloud Press 2008), “Satan’s Scourge: A Narrative of the Age of Witchcraft in England and America 1580-1697” (Star Cloud Press, 2009) and “La Famiglia/The Family, Memoirs” (Bordighera Press, 2009).

An acclaimed writer who taught at SUNY Oswego from 1968 to 1995, Turco’s entry in the creative writing program’s Living Writers Series addresses the fiction genre known as “magic realism.”
