Tree Stewards program seeks additional volunteers via RSVP

SUNY Oswego’s RSVP is seeking volunteers for the Tree Stewards program, to prune, trim and mulch the city’s wealth of young trees.

Tree stewards stand next to tree.Volunteers, who also work with GPS equipment to identify individual trees, meet on Saturday mornings in the spring and fall, and have the option to hear guest speakers at evening meetings.

Contact Tree Stewards coordinator June MacArthur at 532-2579 to volunteer or for more information about the program.

To learn more about volunteer programs available through RSVP, contact Ellen Wahl, director of the local office, at 312-2317 or rsvp.oswego.edu.

RSVP, a federal initiative of the Corporation for National and Community Service, is sponsored locally by SUNY Oswego and the United Way.
