Students give hurricane relief 'second wind'

logo for Red Cross fundraiserStudents at SUNY Oswego will host the Second Wind Gulf Coast Relief Telethon on Sunday, Oct. 30. The telethon will run live from 6 to 11 p.m. in the Hewitt Union ballroom on campus.

All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross Gulf Coast relief fund to help repair the damage the season’s hurricanes have left behind.

There will be live performances and entertainment throughout the evening. Bands playing include The Royal We, Relish the Tilt and The Degenerates. Student organizations will also entertain, including break dancing by B-boy Lifestyles, poetry by the Great Lake Review and dancing by Del Sarte.

Those attending the event will make a $5 dollar donation at the door. The event will also be aired on student television station WTOP, which is channel 10 on campus and public access channel 96 on Time Warner in Oswego, and student radio station WNYO, 88.9 FM.
