SUNY Oswego Recorder Consort to perform Nov. 12

recorder quartetThe SUNY Oswego Recorder Consort will present “A Celebration of Suites” at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at the Church of the Resurrection, 120 W. Fifth St. in Oswego.

Featured works will include a series of Renaissance dances by various composers; the Suite in F from “The Water Music” by George Frideric Handel; “Petite Suite,” a contemporary work written specifically for the recorder by Dom Gregory Murray; and “Dance Suite,” a series of 20th century popular dances by Matyas Seiber.

The Recorder Consort’s members include John Brunson on soprano recorder, director Marilynn Simley on alto recorder, Jane Wright on tenor recorder and Burton Phillips on bass recorder.

Suggested donation is $5; SUNY Oswego students are admitted free.
