The American Management Association and the SUNY Oswego Institute for Professional and Organizational Development have partnered to offer a series of non-credit certificate programs and courses at the institute in Phoenix. “Communication Skills for Managers” will begin Oct. 7.
Running five consecutive Saturday mornings, “Communication Skills for Managers” will focus on increasing an individual’s reading, writing, speaking and listening proficiencies.
Participants will learn the techniques of public speaking, from initial planning to actual presentation, with a goal to express their ideas clearly and concisely in every written report and proposal. Through interactive exercises, students will explore the value of using body language, constructive feedback and active listening tools in the workplace.
This weekly program will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays, Oct. 7 to Nov. 4.
The SUNY Oswego Institute for Professional and Organizational Development is dedicated to partnering with business, government and non-profit organizations to develop and deliver customized employee training based on current and future business needs.
