RSVP at SUNY Oswego continues to seek volunteers to staff the O’Mara Welcome Center, serving the traveling public’s tourism information needs.
Goodwill ambassadors ages 55 and older will greet tourists, offer literature and directions and generally sustain the county’s tourism industry. The center is in the white one-room schoolhouse at the city’s western gateway, on State Route 104 near SUNY Oswego’s Romney Field House.
The O’Mara Welcome Center is open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Volunteers may work one shift a week, either morning or afternoon, or serve less frequently as substitutes.
To volunteer or to obtain for more information, contact RSVP at 312-2317 or firstname.lastname@example.org. RSVP is a federal initiative of the Corporation for National and Community Service, and is sponsored locally by SUNY Oswego and the United Way.
