Shashi Kanbur of Oswego’s physics and earth sciences department will step in to deliver Quest’s keynote address, “The Bi-Partisan Big Bang Theory of the Universe,” at 1 p.m. April 23 in the Campus Center auditorium.
Kanbur’s keynote will be one of more than 180 presentations, performances and panels marking the college’s annual daylong symposium of scholarly and creative activities by faculty, staff and students. All events are free and open to the public.
He will fill in for the previous keynote speaker Bruce Altschuler, who is unavailable due to minor illness.
This year’s winner of the Provost’s Award for Scholarly and Creative Activity and Research, Kanbur will discuss the origin and evolution of the universe and describe the work being done by SUNY Oswego students in this field.
