Student offers interactive art for Quest

Mike Sturdevant holds a marble over his artistic creation.SUNY Oswego senior fine arts major Mike Sturdevant has a created an interactive ceramic representation of a city that he will invite visitors to try out during the college’s Quest symposium on Wednesday, April 21.

He said its intention is “to illustrate the need for people to stand back and critically look at our society and our cities and to remind us that our structures of urbanization are perched, often with questionable balance, on natural foundations.” His conceptual drawing is on the wall behind him. Sturdevant will display and explain the piece at 2 p.m. in the Chu Atrium of the Campus Center.

All events at Quest are free and open to the public. For more information and a schedule for Quest, the college’s annual daylong celebration of scholarship and creativity, see http://www.oswego.edu/quest.
