SUNY Oswego’s Metro Center has opened registration for two event planning certificate programs, one on two Monday evenings in September and the other on two Thursday evenings in October.
Long experienced in event planning, Joe LaGuardia and Bill Motto will offer training to participants from businesses and organizations at Event Planning Certificate Program I: Planning and Logistics, 5:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 13 and 20, and Certificate II: Marketing and Financing, 5:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 7 and 14 at the Metro Center in The Atrium, 2 Clinton Square, in downtown Syracuse.
Registration deadline for the Certificate 1 program is Sept. 10; the deadline for Certificate II is Oct. 4. The cost of either is $199, or both for $349.
The instructors also will offer advanced topics for event planners in two daylong seminars at the Metro Center. “Financing Events in a Tough Economy” will take place 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, while “Sports Event Marketing, Sales, Promotion” is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21.
Registration deadline for the financing-events seminar is Sept. 27; deadline is Oct. 18 for the seminar on sports events. The cost of each is $199.
