SUNY Oswego music faculty member Dr. Robert Auler will present a piano recital at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, in Tyler Hall’s Waterman Theatre.
The recital will feature the works of Stravinsky, Beethoven, Liszt and Chopin, as well as a transcription by Federico Busoni of Bach’s famous “Chaconne in d minor for Solo Violin.”
Auler has performed throughout the United States, Europe and South America, including concerto appearances with orchestras, solo concerts and chamber music engagements. He has recently recorded all of the piano and cello works of William Bolcom and will release a CD for the Centaur label in the near future.
He made his Carnegie Hall debut in conjunction with the SUNY Oswego Alumni Association and has appeared with the Ying Quartet and Julie Albers in SUNY Oswego’s Ke-nekt Chamber Music Series.
Future projects include a performance with the Miro Quartet in this year’s Ke-nekt series, as well as concerts in Idaho, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana and throughout New York state.
At the recital, admission donations will be accepted to support the SUNY Oswego Music Department Excellence Fund.
Visitors with disabilities, needing assistance to attend this event, should contact the SUNY Oswego music department in advance at 312-2130.
