Oswego offers courses on building skills for managers

SUNY Oswego’s Division of Extended Learning is currently offering American Management Association professional courses and certificate programs at the college’s Metro Center, 2 Clinton Center in downtown Syracuse.

AMA courses are designed to build or enhance professional knowledge, skills and leadership for managers.

Managers can learn about increasing reading, writing, speaking and listening proficiency at a two-day “Communication Skills for Managers” workshop, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. consecutive Tuesdays, Oct. 14 and 21. The classes will also allow managers to evaluate their listening habits while building communication strengths.

A “Leadership Skills” course will explore the day-to-day skills used by the world’s most dynamic leaders, along with a leadership model powered by five unique skill sets. Courses will run 6 to 9 p.m. five consecutive Mondays, Oct. 27 through Nov. 24.

The Division of Extended Learning at SUNY Oswego is dedicated to the advancement of professional excellence and skills development.
