The Institute for Professional and Organizational Development at SUNY Oswego is currently offering American Management Association professional courses and certificate programs designed to build or enhance professional knowledge, skills and leadership at the Oswego State Education Center in Phoenix.
“People constitute the real competitive advantage in business and industries of all types,” said Donna Besaw, assistant director of continuing education at SUNY Oswego. “Enhancing the performance of your people and ultimately your organization depends on the continuous improvement of staff at all levels.”
The “Performance Management” course, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on consecutive Thursdays, May 15 and 22, is geared to meet this challenge, Besaw said.
Those looking to update writing skills to meet the demands of today’s e-writing environment can attend the “Sharpen Your Business Writing” course on Tuesday evenings, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., from April 29 through May 27.
The “Finance for Non-Financial Managers” course on Thursday evenings, May 1 through May 29, offers an understanding of basic accounting concepts and principles and how they apply to business.
SUNY Oswego’s Institute for Professional and Organizational Development is dedicated to the advancement of professional excellence and skills development.
The institute works with business, governments and non-profit organizations to develop customized, innovative training designed to result in real world, bottom-line results.
