The SUNY Oswego Office of Business and Community Relations will launch the 20th year of its Leadership Oswego County program with a welcome reception for the class of 2013 on Wednesday, Sept. 12.
The reception, open to program alumni, employers and interested community members, will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Room 118 of Rich Hall. Light refreshments will be served.
“We’re proud to host a reception for Class 20’s new members,” said Jeff Grimshaw, director of the Leadership Oswego County program and the Office of Business and Community Relations. “It’s a significant milestone to celebrate for our leadership program, as well as a wonderful opportunity for alumni to connect with the new class, and for employers and community members to learn more about the program.”
Leadership Oswego County annually prepares a select group of county residents to become future community leaders. The program teaches community trusteeship and leadership skills with a goal of developing a knowledgeable, diverse network of leaders committed to improving the quality of life for Oswego County residents.
“In the past 19 years, the over 400 program graduates have gone on to support a wide range of service and charitable work, making Oswego the wonderful place it is,” Grimshaw said. “We are so honored to be in a position to continue to provide this vital service to our county and are grateful to the many volunteers over the years on our curriculum committee and sponsors for their dedication to our program.”
Sponsors of the Leadership Oswego County Class of 2013 program include Alliance Bank, Entergy, Fulton Savings Bank, Operation Oswego County, Oswego County Federal Credit Union, Cornell Cooperative Extension, Ameriprise Financial Services and program alumni.
