Whether the goal is raising funds for a nonprofit organization, a local school, favorite charity group or religious organization, a noncredit program from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at SUNY Oswego Metro Center in downtown Syracuse will provide techniques and tips individuals can use to find more fundraising success.
The workshop will highlight various fundraising strategies and tools. While the content is designed to provide a broad overview for novice fundraisers, interaction with the experienced trainer and one’s peers will provide useful and new ideas for those with more experience, organizers said.
The program trainer, Denise DiRienzo, is a seasoned professional in the event planning, fundraising and public relations arenas. A visiting professor, she teaches in SUNY Oswego’s School of Communications, Media and the Arts and has previously taught at Syracuse University and SUNY Morrisville. Outside of teaching at the college level, DiRienzo most recently served as the executive director of the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse.
The cost of the program is $75, which includes a light meal and a resource directory created by DiRienzo. To register, visit www.oswego.edu/fundraising or call 315-399-4100. The SUNY Oswego Metro Center is at 2 Clinton Square in Syracuse.
