The fast-paced evening features “a series of spotlight pieces moving from one performance to another so that the effect is an integrated program of music,” said organizer Robert Auler of the music department. “It’s a great night to showcase the talent we have while raising scholarship funds that help our students.”
Student soloists will include on Tim Lanigan on piano, Wojciech Milewski on piano, Zachary Parchomenko on tuba and vocalist Jon Powers. The Student Wind Quintet and Student Jazz Quartet also will perform.
One special feature will find Closer Still—twin sisters Maggie and Maynah Goble of Mexico—performing “Can’t Do It Alone,” a song written and developed by the college’s “Business of Music” class.
Performing ensembles will include the College Choir, State Singers, Wind Ensemble, College-Community Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble and Oswego Jazz Project (pictured).
Tickets cost $10 for the public, $5 for students and seniors. Proceeds will support the SUNY Oswego Music Department Excellence Fund. For more information or tickets, contact Tyler box office at 312-2141 or firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit http://tickets.oswego.edu.
