Gallery's Halloween opening scares up recent faculty work

Tyler Art Gallery will host a Halloween opening reception for “SUNY Oswego Art Faculty: Recent Work.” Running 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31, the reception celebrates the exhibition of Oswego art faculty work in media including painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, works on paper and mixed media.

Students in SUNY Oswego’s music program will offer music from 5 to 6 p.m., and Laurene Buckley, director of Tyler Art Gallery, will welcome the public (in costume or not) to enjoy the diversity of styles and talents among Oswego faculty.

“This annual exhibition gives students and the community a chance to see who is teaching our young people and what their art professors are doing in their own work,” Buckley said. “With two galleries for the show this year, we can display even more new work—in all media.”

Participants in the exhibition will include: Amy Bartell, Frederick Bartolovic, Judith Ann Benedict, Cynthia Clabough, William DeMott, Benjamin Entner, Lindsay Guile, Kacie Haynes, Julieve Jubin, Devin Kerr, Christopher McEvoy, Richard Metzgar, Paloma Pacheco, Paul Pearce, Juan Perdiguero, Mary Pierce, Cole Ritter, Kelly Roe, Cara Brewer Thompson and Kate Timm.

The exhibition will continue through Sunday, Nov. 25.

During exhibitions, SUNY Oswego’s Tyler Art Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. weekends. All gallery events are free and open to the public. Parking is free in campus lots on weekends.
