Helping people examine their attitudes toward eating and body image is the motivation for Body Acceptance and Eating Awareness Day, set for Feb. 14.
The college will offer free, anonymous education and screenings for eating disorders from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Hewitt Union ballroom. From 3 to 7 p.m., free fitness classes, video viewing, vendors, booths and educational visual displays will be available.
There also will be healthy food samples and free educational brochures about eating disorders.
Local residents are encouraged to attend this event, which is part of the National Easting Disorders Screening Program.
Referrals to treatment and support services will be made as needed.
A highlight of the day will be a talent competition at 8 p.m. in the ballroom.
Persons with disabilities needing accommodations to attend this event should contact the Counseling Services Center at 312-4416 in advance.
