Student work featured in Tyler Art Gallery exhibitions

Top work by SUNY Oswego students will be on display during a pair of exhibitions opening Nov. 20 in Tyler Art Gallery.

Both the Master of Arts Thesis Exhibition and Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition will open with a reception, which will be free and open to the public, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the gallery. Artists will be present and available to discuss their work with visitors.

Both exhibitions will run through Dec. 5.

Running in the south gallery, the Master of Arts Thesis Exhibition will feature culminating work by graphic design majors Eva Calzada, Jesse Clayton, Kevin Fox, Carla Senecal and Jenilee Ward.

While students in graphic design need to stay abreast of the ever-changing technology in the field, they also strive to personalize their design efforts. “When I approach a new project, whether it’s for me or for a client, I ask myself ‘how can I put a piece of who I am in this?,’” Fox said.

The north gallery will feature such media as illustration, graphic design, Web design, multimedia video, painting and sculpture created by students ready to graduate with bachelor’s degrees in either studio art or graphic design.

Tyler Art Gallery is open from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. For more information or for visitors needing accommodations to attend, call 312-2113. Parking is free in campus lots on evenings and weekends.
