A live Webcast will carry Oswego’s 148th Commencement ceremonies at Saturday, May 16.
Graduates of the School of Business and School of Education will take part in morning ceremonies in the Campus Center arena beginning at 9 a.m. Those earning degrees from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the new School of Communication, Media and the Arts will participate in afternoon Commencement starting at 1:30 p.m.
Around 1,400 forward-looking students are eligible to participate in this year’s Commencement. GoLoco.com CEO, Zipcar founder/former CEO and transportation innovator Robin Chase, recently named one of Time magazine’s “100 World’s Most Influential People,” will speak at both ceremonies. Pioneering heart disease researcher and 1969 SUNY Oswego graduate Ban-An Khaw will receive an honorary doctorate of science in the afternoon ceremony.
Those unable to make it to to the ceremony can watch it via stream by visiting the Commencement Webcast page, which will go live around 15 minutes prior to each ceremony. Commencement also will broadcast live on Time Warner Channel 96 in some parts of Central New York.
