Dr. Nancy Zimpher, chancellor of the State University of New York, will visit SUNY Oswego on July 15 as part of her tour of the system’s campuses.
SUNY Oswego President Deborah F. Stanley will welcome the chancellor at a breakfast and ceremony at the SUNY Oswego Metro Center in Syracuse. They will then travel to Oswego, where the chancellor will meet with faculty and students to discuss Oswego’s science initiatives and teacher education outreach programs.
At 2:45 p.m. in the Campus Center auditorium, WRVO FM, the college’s NPR affiliate, will host a forum and conversation with Chancellor Zimpher and President Stanley for students, faculty and staff. The forum is scheduled to be videostreamed live from a link on the college’s Web site, www.oswego.edu.
Zimpher became chancellor June 1 with a commitment to see all 64 SUNY campuses during her first 100 days in office, meeting with students, faculty, administrators, community leaders and other stakeholders across the state. Her tour marks the first step in creating a SUNY-wide strategic plan.
