Music department to stage 'Night on Broadway'

choir rehearsesThe SUNY Oswego music department will present “A Night of Broadway” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, in Tyler Hall’s Waterman Theatre.

The concert will feature several choral medleys of contemporary Broadway musicals, performed by the College Choir and State Singers. Dr. Julie Pretzat will direct the choirs and accompanying instrumental ensembles made up of students and faculty members.

The 70-voice College Choir will present medleys from “Phantom of the Opera,” “Les Miserables,” “Jekyll and Hyde” and current top Broadway hit “Wicked.” The select State Singers will perform medleys from the pop/rock musicals “Mamma Mia” and “Rent.” The concert will feature several student soloists as well.

Tickets are available at the door for a suggested donation of $5. SUNY Oswego students can attend the performance for free.

This concert is sponsored by the SUNY Oswego music department and Student Association.
