C-Span’s Book TV will feature SUNY Oswego’s Helen Knowles discussing “The Tie Goes to Freedom: Justice Anthony M. Kennedy on Liberty” at 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. this Sunday, April 5.

The political science faculty member penned the first full-length book on Supreme Court Justice Kennedy, whom she terms a complex and controversial figure who defies traditional categorization. The work sheds light on the decision-making process of a man who often serves as a swing vote on key Supreme Court verdicts.

The program airs a talk Knowles gave when she visited the Cato Institute in Washington, D.C. on March 23.
