Sheldon Roundtable to explore college-community arts partnerships

SUNY Oswego’s Center for Business and Community Development and the city of Oswego’s 2020 Arts Group will host a Sheldon Roundtable Public Issues Forum on the College-Community Partnership on the Arts on Wednesday, April 25.

The free session will run from 6 to 9 p.m. at the King Arthur’s Meeting Room, corner of West First and Bridge streets in downtown Oswego.

The forum will discuss the relationship between community arts organizations and SUNY Oswego as well as the impact of arts organizations on economic development, quality of life and prosperity of the greater Oswego area.

Featured speakers will include Mark Barone, former artist relocation program coordinator in Paducah, Ky., now with Syracuse University; Christine Goodheart, former executive director of university-community partnerships at the University of Washington; Daniel Hayes, executive director of the Center for the Arts of Homer, N.Y., Inc.; Dr. Jessica Hester, assistant professor of theatre at SUNY Oswego; and Murray Gould of Port City Preservation.

Additional program support comes from the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce.
