TV host Jarod Miller to speak, show animals at alma mater

Jarod MillerSUNY Oswego alumnus Jarod Miller, host of “Animal Exploration with Jarod Miller,” “Pet Finder” and CBS’ “Greatest American Dog,” will give a free talk and bring some animal friends to his alma mater on Monday, April 27.

Miller will speak at 7 p.m. in Oswego’s Campus Center arena, followed by an audience question-and-answer session. He will bring along several animals for “a very kid-friendly” show, said Jillian Johnson of the SUNY Oswego Biology Club, which co-sponsors Miller’s talk with the Oswego Alumni Association.

“He’ll present the animals and talk about how he got where he is and what he’s doing now,” Johnson said.

The 2000 zoology graduate presents “Animal Exploration with Jarod Miller,” syndicated nationally and internationally, traveling the world to bring viewers up close with exotic and rare animals. It airs at 10 a.m. Saturdays on WSYR’s Time Warner Digital Cable Channel 890.

He co-hosts “Pet Finder” on Animal Planet, which matches shelter animals with loving families. Miller also hosts “Greatest American Dog,” a reality-type competition on CBS that debuted last year.

He frequently appears on other TV shows to showcase, and promote understanding of, a range of animals. He has been a regular guest on “Today,” “Good Morning America,” “The Early Show,” “The Tonight Show,” “The Rachel Ray Show” and “Live with Regis and Kelly.”
