Lakers, ice hockey player earn national recognition for service projects

The Oswego State athletics department recently earned a top community service award from the National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators, thanks to the work of 450 student-athletes participating in 58 community service and outreach events.

'CSI: NY' actor to share humanitarian passion at Oswego's MLK celebration

Humanitarian, actor, author, health and wellness ambassador and philanthropist Hill Harper, best known for his role as Dr. Sheldon Hawkes on “CSI: NY,” will deliver the keynote speech for SUNY Oswego’s annual celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.‘s legacy at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, in Sheldon Hall ballroom.

Tyler Art Gallery to explore gender identity, photographic searches

Two new exhibitions, one using multiple artistic media to explore the subject of gender identity, the other a provocative collection of photography from Light Work, will run Jan. 31 to Feb. 15 at SUNY Oswego’s Tyler Art Gallery at Penfield Library.

New year to ring in tobacco-free, smoke-free SUNY Oswego

SUNY Oswego’s tobacco- and smoke-free policy takes effect Jan. 1, following a campaign of more than eight months to raise awareness of the costs of tobacco and nicotine use and addiction, to promote and assist smoking cessation, and to communicate with the college’s publics.
