Distinguished environmental analyst to speak

Dr. William F. Hunt Jr., a well-known environmental statistician, will visit campus from Oct. 4 to 8. He will deliver the Science Today lecture on environmental issues and statistics at 4 p.m. Oct. 6. This lecture is co-sponsored by the Oswego chapter of Sigma-Xi, the scientific research society.

Free screening for depression offered Oct. 6

Oswego symposia to begin with medical ethics

A SUNY Oswego symposium on medical ethics on Sept. 29 will be the first public event in a School of Education project funded under Auxiliary Services’ Support for Engagement 2000. The symposium will begin at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 29 in Bell Auditorium and is open to the public.

Oxford Professor To Deliver Steinkraus Lecture

imageSUNY Oswego’s 17th annual Warren Steinkraus Lecture will feature Dr. Henry Shue of the University of Oxford on Oct. 2 at Sheldon Hall. The lecture, “Superpower Accountability,” will focus on politics and the responsibility of a superpower.

Next round of campus renewal taking shape

A sweeping SUNY Oswego campus renewal plan that includes the renovation of the Swetman-imagePoucher complex into centers for academics and humanities, an enclosed pedestrian walkway and numerous modernization projects received a boost from $52 million in capital funds in the recently passed New York state budget.

Sunny Fall Classic supports Presidential Scholarships

imageAfter days of rain and wind on the coattails of Hurricane Frances, Oswego State Fall Classic participants took to the golf course, lake and shooting range under bright, sunny skies. The 15th annual event, held Sept. 9 and 10, raised a gross of about $206,000 to support scholarships for SUNY Oswego students.
