Yoga classes this Friday and next to benefit SEFA

Gail Akin, associate director of admissions and a certified Kripalu Yoga instructor, will offer classes called “Gentle Yoga” from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9 and Dec. 16, in the Lee Hall dance studio.

For $10 a class, faculty, staff and students can seek stress relief and a nurturing experience. All proceeds will benefit the State Employees Federated Appeal.

Akin advises participants to wear loose, comfortable clothing, and she recommends a warm throw or blanket as a cover-up for final relaxation.

Kripalu Yoga focuses on the interplay of body, mind and energy, and practitioners also use it for self-empowerment and personal growth.
