The Orrin Stone Digital Library is designed to be simple to use. There are a
few different options to view the collection.
If you would like to view this collection as it was originally created, Click on the "Journal" link above. When you are in "In Journal Form," if at any time you'd like to see a digital facsimile of the original document, just click on the picture and a new window with the full sized document will appear. If you'd like an index style layout featuring small thumbnails of the journal with the accompanying typewritten text files followed by the date the entries are recorded, click on "Page Index" to the left of this text. If you would like to save this file for closer examination in the future, place your mouse over the picture, right click and select "Save Image As," and select the name and location you wish to save the document to. Metadata boxes are on a majority of the pages to help quicken searches and give users an idea of what is referenced in these selections. There are references to the War of 1812, Marriages, Raisings, and some unique events, or seasonal interests. If you can't find something in those boxes, use the Pico search. Depending on what you enter, results may vary. Choping, and any metaterm will bring in a high number of results. If you have any further questions regarding this collection, please follow the lick to the left labeled "F.A.Q.'s". |
