Sir,
In the absence of the Accountant I have
To inform you that the Treasurer [U.L.] will transmit you
One thousand Dollars, being amount of Warrant No: 1055
This day issued by the Secretary of War-on account of
“Indian Departments”- for which sum you are accountable.
You will be pleased to forward your Receipt, accordingly,
Addressed to the Accountant, as heretofore.
