Excellent Sir,
The excitement is over now at Washington. The crumbs have been distributed and perhaps it would not now be indelicate for you to give me a letter to Mr. Lincoln that I may call on him in a contemplated visit to Washington, pardon this liberty.
I have got my chapter on Egypt nearly finished. I find I have to change my opinions very much. Those who follow evidence have to very inconsistent. (Pride) of opinion must be discontent.
I shall not annoy you by sending it to you, but if I even get it finished I shall by you to read it.

Yours Truly,
R A Wilson

P.S. Your ____ on the rich side would ensure its being read. Franks letters have ____ at the white house, and when hauled in.
