6.7 Determine if a Journal Title is Available

In some cases you may already have a citation for an article without having the database record opne on your screen, or you may want to see if Penfield Library has access to a praticular magazine or journal.

  • Select "Determine if a Journal Title is Available" from the library homepage
  • Enter a search for the name of the periodical you want

Search for Journals Screen

If we have the periodical you will see a display similar to this one for Time magazine.

  • The catalog link will allow you to see Penfield's print and microform holdings for the title.
  • If we have electronic full text the display will give the date range and a link to the respective database.  The link will take you to a screen that will allow you to search or browse through the contents of the one periodical.

Please note that database vendors will often report full text holdings through the current issue when in fact most recent issues are subject to a six to twelve month embargo by the publisher.
