Semester Carrels

Location: 2nd and 3rd floors
Description: Individual study carrels are available on the second and third floors for semester-long use. For more information, see the Penfield Library Study Carrels page.

Quiet Floor

Reservations: No
Location: 3rd floor
Description: To preserve the quiet on this floor, the library asks that groups meet on the first or second floors only.

24-Hour Room

Location: 1st floor, on the west side
Description: This room is open 24/7 except for the week following spring graduation and the time during which the library is closed for the Christmas/New Year's holiday. For more information, see the 24-Hour Room page.

Group Study Rooms

Description: These rooms have glass doors and windows, and are designed for use by more than one person.

IGLUs (Innovative Group Learning Units)

Description: IGLUs contain large screen displays for group collaboration.

Location: Room 122, near the Lake Effect Café
Description: This room may be scheduled by faculty, students, and staff for meetings, group study, and presentation practice.

Media Viewing Room

Description: This room is intended for 2 - 6 people to view multimedia presentations such as videos and DVDs. The large-screen display can also be used with laptops and other media technology.

Penfield Classroom 2

Description: This room is available for group study or presentation practice when it is not being used for classes.

Lake Effect Café

Description: The Lake Effect Café (the room) is open to the public whenever the library is open. College departments, committees, and officially recognized organizations are welcome to reserve use, subject to guidelines.
