The Next button moves you to the next part of your lesson, and the Back button will move you back to the preceding page in the lessons. Navigating the Tutorial Practice Sessions
Throughout the tutorial there will be practice sessions where you will search online databases or use Internet search engines and directories. Before the practice session you will see the following icon . In addition, you will be reminded to resize your windows with the following message:
Resize your screen now.
The practice sessions will list step by step instructions. Near the top of the practice page will be a link to the resource. This link will open a new browser window. You should resize and/or reposition the browser windows to enable you to read the instructions as you work.
The following image illustrates the most effective way to position the browser windows:

In the upper right hand corner of each window are three symbols. The "-" or minimize symbol will shrink the window and place it on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. The "X" or close symbol closes the window and with it the application.
The middle icon allows the window to be maximized to cover the entire screen or restored to the user set size. If the window is maximized and you place the pointer over the icon, the word "Restore" will appear, as shown in the image on the right below.
Clicking on the middle icon when the window is maximized will allow the window to be resized. (or restored to the user set size.)
To resize the window either vertically or horizontally, place the pointer over a window border. When the pointer becomes an arrow you can left click and drag the window border to the location you desire. The image below illustrates the arrow you will see when you place the pointer over the window border.
Remember, the window must NOT be maximized when you attempt to resize it. Also, after the window has been resized once, it will return to that size. This will be handy when you move from a practice session to a lesson and back again.
To move a window, place the pointer over the window title bar and left click and drag the window to the desired location.
To maximize the window when you return to non-practice lessons, click on the middle icon. The word "Maximize" will appear when the pointer is placed over the icon when the window size has been set by the user, as seen in the image below.
