2.4 Searching a General Periodical Database

Resize your windows now for a practice session on searching this database.

From the Library's page, follow these links:

• Research Subject Guides (found under Find Articles and More)
• General Indexes (found under General/Interdisciplinary)
• InfoTrac OneFile

After choosing the InfoTrac OneFile database, select Subject guide search from the navigation bar on the left.

Enter your search term or phrase here and you will probably see a list of subject headings.

Enter the search term "genetic engineering" in a subject search now.

Click Search.

Click on Narrow, then focus this subject by selecting a subdivision of interest. (Narrow is on the far right side of the screen.) Click on View to move to the list of citations.
