Librarians at Penfield welcome the opportunity to teach library skills to students who have specific assignments that require research. We teach library instruction sessions for introductory classes (e.g., ENG102), upper division classes (e.g., ART450), and other classes that require use of library reference resources, the library catalog, and/or electronic information resources.
Penfield's Information Literacy Tutorial has also been developed for use by the campus community as a means of providing basic library instruction or for reviewing basic library skills.
Please allow two weeks lead time when you request a library research class. Also, please be ready to describe the research assignment and to share students' research topics with the librarian teaching the class. It is strongly preferred that faculty members attend the library instruction session with their students.
If you have questions, suggestions, or comments, please call or write the Coordinator of Library Instruction. Thank you!
Please note that the areas indicated in bold print are needed
in order to process the request.
After the form is processed, we will give you a phone call to set up the final arrangements for the library instruction class, and send written confirmation.
