Some professors may require that you find primary research on your topic, which in the field of Education usually means a first hand account of a study.  A scholar will describe in the article the methodology used for a study he/she personally conducted, explain how subjects were selected, share the results, and offer some analysis of these results.

If this is something you are searching for, there is a way to focus your search on research articles by choosing a special limit.  This strategy is pictured in the sample screen in below, and is a Publication Type limit.  Choose Reports - Research/Technical from the list of options. Once you have a list of results, you should read the abstracts to be sure the articles you choose are what you need, especially since "technical reports" are also included in this limit category.
