Journal Collection

Want to browse the latest issue of Time magazine? . . . find journal articles on the subject of affirmative action? Penfield has over 1150 periodical titles shelved alphabetically on the second floor and access to over 14,000 e-journals through online subscriptions.

To determine if we own a journal in print or electronic format, go to our Journals and Newspapers by Title page. You can also find out which journals we own in paper or microform copies by searching the library catalog. Use the advanced search screen to search by title and limit to the Journal Collection. SUNY Oswego affiliated users can request scanned copies of articles from journals held in microfilm or microfiche by using the microform copy request form.

If you're looking for articles on a specific subject, it's best to start looking in the journal indexes on the Research Subject Guides web page (a link is also on the library homepage).

You can't check out periodicals, but there is a scanner available on the first floor. Users of the library's microfilm and microfiche collections can print pages using their print quota or use the library's scanning equipment to create image and PDF files. Users interested in using the microform scanning equipment should ask for assistance at the 2nd Floor Service Desk.
